Purakaunui waterfall

Purakaunui waterfall, one of the most recommended falls by Catlins locals. It looks really good thru pictures, but that could be photoshopped.

We thought we were that lucky to catch that perfect view, with the heavy rainfall the day before, just like McLean falls. But apparently it is not the case. Since this is a short but wide fall, too much water will render it "nothing special". Be sure to compare it with the McLean falls.

So next time if you are here, make sure it has water, but not too much water. Hard eh? :)
