5th June

We didn't end up seeing snow today, cos the forecast is that whether snow, flurries or rain, it will be a damp cold night, at about -6degrees around our area, south Canterbury. We could have if we stayed in Peel Forest, but we may face the risk of being trapped in the snow too. We checked in to Grumpy's Retreat near Geraldine in the end.

Today was an eventful day. We started early, and drove 45km to Erewhon/Mount Sunday, the place where they built the Rohan Castle in "Lord of the Ring 2". It is far, due to the fact that half of the journey was travelled in gravel road, which means its 30kmph and bumpy and boring an sleepy. The props were taken down, but one look will know where the scene was filmed. The landscape was very mystical with snow capped mountains and misty feeling. We also passed by 2 lakes, which were supposedly great scenic view, but oh well..

We also visited the Sharplin Falls. Not very spectacular, but we trekked 45 mins to the falls. Managed to shed some fats away from Koh Leng Leng. We were tired and physically drained.

Now for dinner, I tried my second attempt at pasta. Looks great and taste great. No joke!

And yes, I completed Diablo 4 Notmal mode. Haha.

We were advised by Grumpy (that's what the manager of this holiday park calls himself) that Mount Cook will be snowing now, and will not be easy to drive there, asked to skip. Lets see how it goes tomorrow.

Till then, good night and sweet dreams.
