27th July @ whole day wasted in Caravan company

We wasted one whole day in the caravan company. It was again not a very nice experience, but we managed to change our problematic caravan.

27th July @ Singapore mee

Curry instant noodle. Yummy!

26th and 27th July @ Casino visit for my chips

Just visits to the casino to collect the chips! 2 of them in Queenstown! Guess some people would rather hang out here rather than go enjoy the nature.

26th July @ Starbucks and Movie date

As topic! $16.20 ticket for Batman show. Seriously, Koh Leng Leng really enjoyed the day with her burger, her chocolate mocha and her movie pick :)

What can you say? Sometimes, we have to splurge to make ourselves happy after a bad day in the caravan company.

Come to think bout it, we had a fun time copying the cast in batman!

26th July @ Robins Road

Robins Road.

26th July @ Ferg burger, the best burger in town

It is a must-do activity in Queenstown. I don't think there is any other branch outside Queenstown.

Be prepared for a long queue as its normal to see many queuing up for Ferg burgers. But you definitely will not regret queuing for it!

The burgers are really yummy. We had lamby and double cheese burger.

26th July @ Britz Centre

We had a very unhappy experience with the Britz people. I don't really want to blog about unhappiness here, but that's also part of our experience. So I will only generalize and say they really should brush up on their customer service.

25th July @ Queenstown

Queenstown, a town where youngsters hang out, be it for skiing, snow boarding, movies, skydiving, or bungy jumping. Whatever the activities are, they are all catered to youngsters, or those with a young heart.

A walk through the town starts with the lake Wakatipu view, as Queenstown is located just beside the lake. Although it is a touristy place, you will be surprised that this is less developed than Dunedin or even Oamaru.

We checked in at Qbox for a week. It is the cheaper accommodation as the cost for accommodation is quite high in Queenstown.

25th July @ Queenstown airport and Britz Center

We reached Frankton which is 5km east of Queenstown, which also so happened to be where Queenstown Airport is. Had a really hard time trying to find where Britz Center is.

When we are there and explained why we are there, the sales person told us to go straight to their authorized mechanic shop. Although this was not what we had expected, since we had paid for the service, we still went after telling them we can drive there but we shouldn't be liaising between the mechanics and them.

We reached the mechanics but was old that they couldn't fix the handle, since they did not have the part. But they took a look at the sound that we were having when driving. They determined that there was a bolt that was longer than the rest, and thus changed it. We went back to Britz Center and Phil, the branch manager, told us that he ha ordered the part and will be here by 12 noon the next day.

We were happy and went off.

Photo Limit Reached

Ok. I managed to solve this, else the next thing I will do is to throw away this iPhone and not continue blogging.

This was what's happening, and hopefully, it might help people who blog from iPhone. The problem lies with the Blogger app in iPhone (I do not know if Android has this prob).

Background
Every blog photos goes into something call Picasa Web, where they also house your photos there. Everyone has their own account of Picasa web. So in your Picasa web, there are albums to house your photos, and each album are created automatically and can house 1,000 photos. Once you upload the 1001th photo, it will automatically create another album for you (all is transparent to us).

Problem
iPhone blogger app will not create a new album for you. It will only stupidly show you the photo limit reached error message.

Solution
Go to your computer and upload a dummy photo. It will automatically create a new album for you. Now you can continue to blog from your iPhone. Hurray.

Long term fix
Google, blogger app or whoever to recode the app in iPhone.

What is Photo limit reached?

Great. Now blogspot is telling me photo limit reached and I can't upload photos in my previous entry.

And I can't even upload The photo that tells me that! What lame!

25th July @ Gibbston Valley Cheesery

My wine earlier, her cheese now. It was only now that we realized that Gibbston is famous for its vineyards and this particular cheesery. If you are following a wine trail, you will not miss Gibbston. Most of the vineyards have awards to their few speciality red or white wines.

We were greeted by a Taiwan woman at the cheesery and again showed us some samples of cheese. This time, their famous cheese is a brown color dried cheese. No pictures, if you are interested, google yourself. As it was nearing lunch time, we sat down to enjoy a sumptuous flatbed bread with chorizo and their in house cheese. The chorizo taste good, but not as good as Taiwan sausage! But still, highly recommended!

I wanted to buy an apron for my sis, but a whopping $40 destroyed the thought. It was not of a superior quality, only the words attracted me.

25th July @ understanding wine in Gibbston

We continued our way towards Queenstown when we saw many vineyards. That was when I told her we should visit another vineyard around this area. We chose Mt Rosa.

A burly man greeted us as we parked our car. In fear that it might be closed, as we had seen many closed vineyards along the way, we asked if its open. The man said, "yes its open and come on in and have some taste of our wine!"

We went in and was greeted by a poster, as big as a normal man size. In the poster was Jeremy, who lead us in. While pouring me the red wine for sample tasting, he explained to us very comprehensively on the way to enjoy wine. The first step is to find the wine that we like, and ignore the teachings that say red is better or red goes better with red meat.

Jeremy was not pushy with his products and he really concentrated in sharing his knowledge with us. He was really a nice guy I presume, which he also said he enjoys beer more than wine when I told him so.

If you ever want a nice wine tasting, try Jeremy in Mt Rosa next time. We went to another few and they weren't so enthusiastic on sharing with us :)

We left happily with my new white wine purchase 2011 Sauvignon Blanc.
