20th - 22nd July @ Alexandra Holiday Park

We decided to stay here for 2 nights, owing to the fact that this is one of the biggest holiday parks in New Zealand, if not the biggest. It has over 400 over powered sites, and many many cabins. It was said that in summer, there can be about 2,500 guests observed in a day.

Having said that, you would expect the park to be in a run down condition. In fact, it has many sides where we wow more than boo. For example, the drinking water tap is automatically boiled/cool. This is the first time we seen such gadgets in all the holiday parks we stayed in.

There are many motor homes parked here for storage, for ease of the owner and family come summer. Parking fee is $62.50 quarterly, which works up to be about $5 per week. Quite an information for people wanting to retire in Kiwiland!

And try this! Koh Leng Leng's home recipe for fried bee hoon! It is really declicious!

Alexandra is a town famous for being the coldest in winter and hottest in summer. How can you imagine, with 2,499 guests around you in the hot summer holiday?
