25th July @ understanding wine in Gibbston

We continued our way towards Queenstown when we saw many vineyards. That was when I told her we should visit another vineyard around this area. We chose Mt Rosa.

A burly man greeted us as we parked our car. In fear that it might be closed, as we had seen many closed vineyards along the way, we asked if its open. The man said, "yes its open and come on in and have some taste of our wine!"

We went in and was greeted by a poster, as big as a normal man size. In the poster was Jeremy, who lead us in. While pouring me the red wine for sample tasting, he explained to us very comprehensively on the way to enjoy wine. The first step is to find the wine that we like, and ignore the teachings that say red is better or red goes better with red meat.

Jeremy was not pushy with his products and he really concentrated in sharing his knowledge with us. He was really a nice guy I presume, which he also said he enjoys beer more than wine when I told him so.

If you ever want a nice wine tasting, try Jeremy in Mt Rosa next time. We went to another few and they weren't so enthusiastic on sharing with us :)

We left happily with my new white wine purchase 2011 Sauvignon Blanc.
