It was a bright sunny morning for our excursion with Michael and Pauline. We were extra excited due to the fact that our expectation was raised high with talks with Pauline and she often mention how hard people wants to get in. The journey duration from Grumpy to the entrance of Mount Algidus took us about 2 hours on Michael's car.
We were greeted by Peter, who is Mike's son-in-law, husband to Sally-Ann. A tall and physically big man, he showed us to our transport, the 4wheel drive. The streams of river weren't that deep today, but we had our fair share of excitement crossing them. Peter, too, spike out excitement when he jam break right in the stream where the river water splashed up and covered the bonnet. "This is the fun part!" he exclaimed. Sure enough, this is the first time we took a bumpy trip across river like this. Not one, but across 5 streams of water. He also explained on the markers along both sides of the track that there is a constant need to use the tractor to clear and rebuild the road, whenever the streams change it's direction or gets too deep.
We took a video of how we cross the river, if any kind soul can share on how to upload a video here using any means :)
He showed us the famous tree spot for photography and some place along the way where icicles had formed before we reached his home. It is indeed a very secluded and quiet place.
